I'm digging through some of the stuff I hosted at my old site. They were huge until everyone pissed me off. I took it down because everyone acted like I was the pivot man in their circle jerk. Reading the Diamond Dialogue articles brought back the fun I had compiling it (despite staying up until 2AM building my site when I had to wake up at 5:30AM). Some people don't appreciate free labor! LOL! {Grin}

I just pulled the "Babes of Broadway" issue and all of the unpublished titles mentioned up there have art pinups in the issue.

Stuff for:

Till Death Do Us Part...
Spire
Technomancers
Makeshift
Future Tech (set in the future)
The Hell I Am
Spirit of Freedom (?)

*sigh*

This comic universe would have done circles around pre-unity valiant had it gone on longer.

Yep. Broadway's act of shutting down was one of my biggest disappointments in all my history of collecting comics.
More disappointing than Valiant being raped.

It is frustrating as hell. This looked like this was the last time JS was in charge of everything in a comic line.

I pulled a stack to reread again. I'm rusty with storylines so these will be fresh read again.

Maybe I'll reread it when I update my Broadways site. I tried to pick up where I left off last week on my Defiant site and there just isn't enough time in the day to get anymore updates done. They are killing me at work again.

New checklist updates for Broadway/Defiant? {Confused} Re-reading the Defiant run does take alot of time with the 50+ issues.

I had forgotten how cool the pinups are in the Babes of Broadway comic. I think the Babes of Broadway issue is to the Broadway universe just like the Birth of Defiant was to Defiant. It's like this was a preview for the next round of books in Broadway Year 2. *grumble*

Site updates were started, but no new comic listings will be added. I will be bringing back articles and such.
One of the reasons I downsized my Broadway site was that I got tired of most of my traffic coming from a cross-gender website to see the Makeshift content I had posted. I was more interested in promoting the comics than promoting an alternate lifestyle.

I was looking through my stuff and I do have the page up there and another 5 page newsletter in black and white. I'm looking for the month/date but I see a number one and Fatale when I open it up. And a Jim Shooter joke of the day article. Along with character profiles in the other pages. With shipping dates for the 11/95 through Feb/96. Were there 3 newsletters in total Defiant1? Or do you think there were more?

This was originally folded in letter form so I think i'll slip this in a magazine sized bag/board.

I must have forgotten about this one since it was addressed to someone else and unfolded.

My memory was that there were three. I have not located scans for a third one yet. I found those while looking for Defiant content. My Defiant site was too big for Angelfire, so it resulted in me storing larger files at other hosts. Broadway needed less space, so I was digging through old Broadway stuff to locate Defiant stuff. I have better free software now than I did then, so I figured I'd post those on the board until I could begin work on my Broadway site again.

Sure! Since I'm reviving all of this I'll take donations. The larger the scans the better. 600dpi if possible. 300dpi is cool. Some of my older scans were only 75dpi which is not print quality.

I was scanning as pdf but it's been cropping off a quarter of an inch on the top or bottom borders of the pages as I adjust it. One way it crops and the other way it still crops. grrrr....

Been placing it back and forth on the thing. I can post some of what I scanned so you can at least view the content in the meantime.

taking a few practice swings to scan it right.

I was trying to combine pages into a multi-page pdf and for some reason, the genuine Adobe software I'm using would make all the pages full size except one. Programmers don't sit with people using this stuff to realize how screwed up their software is.

They range from 799kb to 9MB...I didn't know pdfs aren't hosted on the image sites. Unless converted to something else but I forgot how to do that. {Rolleyes}

If you install the plugin, Irfanview can open a PDF and save it as an image file. You can extract all the pages and save them as separate files at once or do them one page at a time.

I think I remember using Infranview one time. The name sounds familiar. Maybe it's easier if I just email/pm you the pages....

Maybe if you see it you might have it too....

That works. You lose the clarity on a good scan because a screen capture will be limited to your monitor resolution. You could've pasted into Irfanview also. I don't use Microsoft paint for anything. The newest version of Irfanview has a built in pdf plugin and doesn't require a 3rd party plugin download. Whenever you install Irfanview, always install the Irfanview plugins file they offer at the same time. The versions should match and they are available at Irfanview.com.

I loaded all the plugins but for some reason, it didn't want to load a pdf page. I dug around and the viewer wouldn't let me select it. The pdfs are bigger and clearer ( especially for the darker page 2) but I don't know why the infranview would't let me do a simple convert. Or even open it. Smiley

They are very slow to load because of the file size and the conversion to pixel data.

It's up to version 4.41

32 bit version
Program
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/IrfanView-32bit/967963863/1

Plugins
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/IrfanView-PlugIns-32bit/1099412658/1

Starting with version 4.40
- New PDF PlugIn (enable in Properties->PlugIns->PDF)

Additionally

PlugIns updated after the version 4.41:

PDF Plugin (4.42) - ZIP (32 bit) or ZIP (64 bit) - New Save dialog options (paper orientation, image size)
http://www.irfanview.net/plugins/pdf_32.zip

and

POSTSCRIPT - (version 4.39): allows IrfanView to read EPS/PS/PDF files (using Ghostscript, take the 32-bit (!) EXE installer, like "gs904w32.exe") [snip]
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/ghostscript/GPL%20Ghostscript/9.09/gs909w32.exe?r=http%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fprojects%2Fghostscript%2Ffiles%2Flatest%2Fdownload&ts=1453507332&use_mirror=iweb

The prevous link is good to install even if you don't have Iranview.

I highly recommend CutePDF to print anything as a pdf (Word Documents, pictures... anything)
After installing CutePDF writer, just select the CutePDF option when you print something and it'll open up a Save box to save the PDF.

http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp

It usually installs Ghostscript also. I've never had a conflict from installing it separately or with CutePDF in any order.
Ghostscript is the "engine" that replaces Adobe Acrobat for pdf creation.

I would add that I pointed Mark Evanier to CutePDF when I saw he'd posted PDF's with watermarks on them. CutePDF is free and doesn't leave watermarks on the files they generate. Mark seemed pleased with it.

Photobucket links purged. The second newsletter scans are not the original images posted, but cropped versions to represent the subject matter.
