I saw that, so I'll still feed some more content your direction on your board.
I also noticed a couple of members posting screwy stuff. I figured that might have been why you changed it to private.

I don't know why anyone would complain about the coloring. It was fine.

I thought the foundation of the stories were getting weak and disjointed about 6 to 8 months in, but they started out great and they were turning towards excellent towards the end in Dark Dominion. I do feel that the lawsuit was occupying too much of Jim's time.

I think it's better to just go back and comment on old posts rather than argue with people or try to change their minds. I'd bump up something interesting rather than reply to them.

This is an intense short week at work. I was off 3 days, so I'm going to try and work 12 hour days to catch up. I'm off next week. YAY!

Some guy posted a long rant that when on and on about how terrible he thought Defiant was. It was nothing more than him venting. I deleted the post and muted him for a week. I couldn’t ban him because he wasn’t a member of the group. That’s the only time I’ve done that to anyone in one of my groups unless they were a suspicious account.
He went on the VF board and cried about it. I’m pretty sure the members of that board know that’s my FB group. A couple of those guys agreed with his side of things and took a shot at me, as if I couldn’t handle it that he had a different opinion than mine. I don’t care. My groups aren’t there for long vents against the company that is the focus of the group. I have the New Universe FB group. A lot of people have taken shots at the New U there, and I never deleted their posts. But this was a mindless, lengthy rant that served no purpose, other than psychological reasons that made the author feel better.
I agree with you that some stories suffered about halfway into Defiant’s time publishing because Jim cut back on his writing due to the lawsuit, but that everything was coming together toward the end of their run as a publisher.

This is what I don't get. I was a fan of JIM SHOOTER's Valiant. I joined Greg's message board thinking that would be the only logical reason people would joining a Valiant Comics message board. After a year of posting, I discovered I was wrong and that many fans of Valiant had jumped on the cause after Shooter was ousted. They didn't know that Layton had betrayed Jim to assist Massarsky in committing white collar theft of the company. My opinions about Valiant weren't shared or appreciated. I did the only logical thing to do. I left the board. People labeled me a troublemaker because I was not going to agree with them. Some people plead for me to come back.

I thought it strange for him to thank you for the group existing, and then rant about how much he disliked the writing. It's fine to me that someone dislikes something. We're in America. I'm all for the freedom to express insights and opinions. What I didn't understand was his motivation to post. How was it relevant that he got his comics from Jim Shooter's mom? Was that a personal jab to say "I'm someone close?"

If someone hates the product a publisher put out, why cry if you get kicked out of the group? That’s what I don’t understand about that guy. I’m not going to allow someone to come into a group and attack the company on excessive rants at will, if nothing else is being offered.

Jim has a lot of "enemies". I use that word loosely because the people are usually just holding a grudge over something they didn't like about his management choices.
Georges Jeanty didn't always understand why Jim instructed him to do things a certain way, but he would praise Jim if his peers weren't listening. It was interesting to me that he'd look around to make sure other creators weren't listening at a show before he'd say nice things. Even he was concerned that saying nice things about Jim might strike a sense of resentment from other creators. Whoever that individual was, I think he showed up with an intent to discredit Jim's leadership role.

Defiant1 on Facebook
(2006-2020)
Facebook booted me and I don't care. It wants me to enter a phone number. FUCK them. I don't own a phone. I use a phone my girlfriend bought me. It's hers, not mine. No web site is getting her phone number.

Yes.
Facebook also listed hundreds of companies that had uploaded information about me. None were companies that have any information on me. It's bad enough that Facebook is stealing and tracking information on it's users. To see fictitious data on me is just a reminder of how corrupt the data theft process can become.

I'll probably take my Defiant site down permanently. I think there is a high likelihood that members of the group reported the content I posted as being spam. I'm tired of Valiant fans. I'm tired of giving away information that I researched for thousands of hours while others sat on their ass complaining about my arrogant attitude. I don't need DEFIANT. I don't need credit or fame. I didn't make a dime off of my efforts. I just wanted the information out there. I think I now want people to just wonder like I did 17 years ago.

The web has turned to shit and I'm tired of fighting the inevitable. I knew it was going to turn to shit in 1998 as corporations started to leverage it for monetary gain. It's just a shame.

This article may have something to do with their software booting me from the system.
They are fucking idiots. They boot real people and have incorrect info on me.
This makes me want to reactivate my account so I can continue to screw with their programmers.
