That's VERY encouraging. James Cameron giving it his blessing is a huge plus. The special effects look neat. I didn't see any annoying characters. The whole series was really starting to go downhill due to the last movie.

He seems to be endorsing it big time. I hope Alien 5 will get the same support. Smiley The director in this directed Thor 2. I still have to watch the later half of that one. The 3 replacement new biker punks from the first movie is still missing Bill Paxton! *game over, man!* Smiley

The video had too many spoilers. The one thing they are keeping secret is the actor from Doctor Who and who he's playing. He seems to be an important plot point and they are keeping him out of the trailers.

I've already forgotten Thor 2. In a way I'm getting tired of the Marvel movies.
I thought of Bill Paxton too.
I also thought it was showing too much, but I was really only paying attention to the faces and the special effects.
I've never really watched any Dr. Who.

I noticed alot of nanobots in the special effects. What about the T-1,000,000 from Terminator 2 3-D! The sequels forget to bring that one back.

I'm not excited to see any new superhero movies. I thought about going to see Avengers 2 in theaters and changed my mind for other things.

Jurassic World unfortunately looks boring.

I'm not particularly excited about anything. Avengers 2 was a letdown. Too much Scarlet Witch. Ultron talked more like a human with human interests. Jurassic park doesn't interest me.

{Unsure} That doesn't look any good. There's no mood or feeling to the scene.

It looks like it's a PG13 rated movie. Not gritty like the first movie.

Cameron makes an intelligent movie. it's not just special effects and action sequences. Well, I thought Unobtanium in Avatar was stupid. Other than that he makes intelligent movies.

Seeing the former California governor would creep me out too. I think Jeb Bush would creep me out more.

Re: Terminator Genisys (6th Jul 15 at 11:49pm UTC)
I've been to distracted to post my comments on this.

The movie is okay. I would not call it a reboot. I think they just ignored the last movie as if it didn't exist.

The only endearing characters are the Sara Conner actress and Arnold. If someone had lied and told me that Emilia Clarke was the daughter of Linda Hamilton, I might even have believed it. Jon Conner is just obnoxious to watch and Reese is just tedious to watch.

The movie can really be divided into three parts.

1) The retelling of what we pretty much know plus a few scenes to elaborate and provide some added depth. Overall, this part bored me and allowed my mind to roam regarding everything I disliked about the casting. Essentially, there are complete recreations of scenes from the first movie. They pale in comparison to the original, but they are honest attempt to recreate the subtleties that Cameron included.

2) The next part is where everything changes and it's not what I expected. I was actually bored up until this point and this portion made me sit up straight in my seat and start paying attention to every detail. Unfortunately, it's only the setup for the last part.

3) The third part is evidently what we were supposed to see. It's the meat of movie and it wasn't really that interesting. We see a new kind of Terminator. We see a new incarnation of Skynet. A new mission and a new plot. Everything extremely cool in the second portion was wasted on a boring 3rd Act.

The biggest problem is that I don't like the new male leads and I don't want to look at them for 2hrs.
There is one scene that made me think they were setting up an Aliens vs. Terminator movie, but who knows.

Last but not least, there is a scene to watch in the credits. I not only predicted it, but I flat out expected it based upon the way the movie ended. The ending wasn't total crap. I could see a follow-up movie actually being better than this one. That wouldn't be a huge hurdle.

I'd give it maybe a 6 out of 10. That's better than the previous one that I'd only rate as a 2.

Cameron's comments make a lot more sense after seeing the movie. I agree with everything he said except I did not like some of the actors. For me, that made all the plot twists annoying to watch. Cameron also did a far superior job at creating mood, intensity, and visual imagery. Whereas he might be flattered that they recreated some scenes he created, I found them to be inferior to what he did.

Saw this the other night and I was surprised I enjoyed most of it. I was expecting it to be horrible but I watched it straight through. Kyle Reese was meh. Sara Connor was hawt though. Maybe I should start watching Game Of Thrones for her.

I'm starting to tell when Australian actors over enunciate their dialogue to sound more like an american accents. Gets distracting for me sometimes.

It didn't make much domestic but it made more overseas. And made more than the last 2 Terminator sequels:

Not sure if they are producing a fifth. I thought I read somewhere that if they don't make new Terminator movies, the rights revert back to Cameron like in a few years or something.

I don't know. As I recall, I only liked the middle with the plot twist and I only liked Sarah and Arnie. The casting was horrible for Kyle and John Conner.

He did a great job in the 1st movie. His attitude sold the intensity of it all.

Yea, he's the best Kyle Reese and Corporal Hicks from Aliens. Maybe James Cameron had some things brewing in his mind since his Universal Studios T2-3D the ride.

Pretty good. It was long and I was having problems finding time to watch it. I liked what he mentioned about not investing in a character just to have them go away at the end. Little principles like that are why I like his movies. Also, I thought it was funny that he says the interviewer is thinking about the time travel in Terminator to an unhealthy degree and then he started rambling about theoretical physics and how the scenario could exist.
I fell asleep after watching it, so those are the high points that I remember.

Here's one "George Lucas" tweak change he did for T2:

The previous longer interview mostly talks about 3d. He's planning on Aliens in 3D next. That one i'll go see in theaters since I only saw it for the first time on VHS as a kid. The last act with the Alien Queen and eggs would be interesting to see in 3D. T2 I already saw on the big screen and a billion times on tv.

I think T2 stands up also. I too remember the windshield, but only because he says so here.

Aliens was good in the theater and it was a really good role for Bill Paxton. He stood out even though I didn't know who he was at the time. I guess for 3D, it could be interesting.

Great interview. I'm not excited about seeing these actors at their ages in a new Terminator film, but I'll probably see any film that Cameron makes. I saw the movie that was set in a cave, so I'll probably see anything by him.

Re: Terminator Genisys (5th Oct 17 at 3:05pm UTC)
I didn't see his cave movie yet. Or the old Dark Angel tv show. Mostly the documentaries he did on the side over the years. If he's producing the new stuff, I hope he's on set more to oversee it like Lucas did for Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The 3 Terminator sequels never really matched the look of Terminator 2. I always liked the blue lighting Cameron uses for all his movies. He's kept it pretty much the same look from Aliens to Avatar, they have this similar look with his use of blue lighting on everything. I think Terminator movies work better set at nightime than daytime scenes anyway. From the hospital scenes where they rescue Sara Connor to the helicopter car chase sequence at the end. And the future set era in the Skynet ruins. All blues seems to be his signature choice.

I'm surprised he doesn't talk up the T2-3D ride anymore. To me that was his real last direct sequel to T2.

He mentioned T2-3D in the interview. I wouldn't really call it a ride. I saw it and enjoyed it. I saw few episodes of Dark Angel and have adored Jessica Alba ever since. He's been saying controversial stuff lately and upsetting people. I think he criticized the Wonder Woman movie which upset everyone. He didn't feel that it improved roles for women or something like that. After seeing this interview, you can see what motivated him to say that. He's proud of what Linda Hamilton did.
