Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)

I hope the movie is more exciting than the trailer.

I was just going to link it. {Grin} Teaser was too short.

I'm looking forward to this one.

A little plot would be nice. I guess this is what Luc has been working on since Lucy. I don't know anything about it. I have no opinion.

Not making judgment, but I fell asleep watching that.

It's looking pretty good. I think James Cameron will up his Avatar 2 filming ideas after seeing this movie.

It bothers me. The colors are interesting, but the costumes reflect everything that I was tired of seeing in Star Wars. I really don't think it will interest me at this point.

I hope it's not too overly loud like the other crazy recent action movies. I don't like that particular Beatles song they keep using for this one. But I'll take the worst luc besson action movie over force awakens any day. But he's had a reliable record on good movies for awhile.

We'll see. I couldn't bring myself to see Ghost in the Shell, the new King Kong movie, or the Power Ranger movie. I'll probably see this, but I'm not really enthusiastic about it.

I will probably go see it, but I'm not real excited about seeing a Star Wars clone.

Force awakens was a clone and it was a piece of shit. Luc besson is usually reliable with his movies.

I just don't feel like learning a bunch of new aliens and new actors. The lead actors are not people I want to look at for 2 hours.

I saw this today. I'll give it about an 8. The actors do a really good job even though I don't like looking at them. The movie really keeps your mind occupied. You know what the conflict is about, but you don't know why. It's a cross between Avatar & Star Wars. I could have done without Rhianna. Clive Owen is in it. The female lead has a cute body in a Nathalie Portman kind of way... not a lot to look at, but the curves are cute in a bathing suit. It makes up for the bushy eyebrows which are a turn-off to me.

Nice. I need to see it before it leaves theaters. Been a little hectic for me lately but I would have gone already. I've been avoiding spoilers. I like going to movies when it's fully empty! Smiley

You'd better act fast. I showed up at a mall at about 5PM. The only showing they had was at 6:30PM. I went to the food court & then looked at the comics.
I passed on all thre comics. The only Valiant TPB I saw was Faith. They had a few single issues. I saw a copy of Eternal Warrior and maybe something else. The only thing even slightly tempting was a Fried Pie variant of Power Puff Girls. It was another #1. There was another Rick & Morty #1... a spin-off series. I grabbed a hacker magazine 2600. I then sat through the pre-show ads and the trailers. I saw a preview of a live action Tick show. I think it's a TV show. Can't remember. But anyway, I think Valerian will be out of the theaters very soon.

Yea, I better hurry fast on this one. It's a shame it didn't catch on more in the U.S.. Maybe they should have released this as a December movie and it would have preformed better. Crappy movies like Force Awakens seems to benefit from an Xmas holiday release. I think James Cameron is going to try to top the visuals from this for Avatar 2. If that ever gets made.

Cameron is working with a company that provides 3D video without the use of glasses. That is probably delaying everything.

I'm an hour into this and it's pretty great. Visually it's awesome. I like the whole dimension hopping action sequence in the beginning. George Lucas must be pissed off at not directing Star Wars 7 after seeing the visuals in this one. Cameron must be upping his game for Avatar 2 too.

I liked the movie better than I liked the trailer. I thought the actors would annoy me, but they played their role perfectly.
