Harrison Ford handing another one off as he stays gainfully employed. Interesting. No Sean Young, but this appears to be a Bladerunner tracking down Deckard after the end of the original movie.
I'll probably see this.

Boom! did a 24 issue series that looks interesting a few years back.

http://www.comics.org/series/38419/covers/

Ever check that out? I still have my '80s Blade Runner 2 issue adaptation from Marvel.

I might get into this one before the new movie comes out.

The title definitely interested me. I like movies based on Phillip K. Dick's writing. Overall though, I'm not fan of comic adaptions of movie properties. I did consider trying it out. It's going to take a lot to get me buying comics on a monthly basis. It's going to take a lot to get me to buy comics for reading alone. I want comics that will increase in value as well as being good reading entertainment. I have enough comics that have depreciated in value.

I saw this movie called "Sicario" from the director of the Blade Runner sequel. Pretty good movie. It's basically a crime thriller. The music score was moody and the camera shots looked good. Might bode well for the next Blade Runner since Ridley is just producing it. He's also the same director of the "Prisoners" movie a few years ago.

Prisoners is the movie filmed in Georgia & Pennsylvania. Some of the Georgia filming was done just about a mile from where I live. I thought Prisoners was pretty good. It had a very dark moody side to it. It was a good mystery. It also seemed to be filmed on a low budget. It'll be interesting to see what a bigger budget does for his work creatively.

Prisoners ended in that cliffhanger note with Hugh Jackson underneath that car at the end. I wonder if they got him out! {Shocked}

I tried to go see the director's latest movie called "Arrival" but it left theaters in my area. It's something about communicating with aliens through music.

I'm becoming a fan of the music composer he collaborates with who looks like he's doing Blade Runner 2 as well. This one called "The Beast" from Sicario's beginning that plays this music while the camera slowly hovers through parts over Mexico:

The music isn't bad.

My recollection is that Hugh Jackman did get out or the people heard him at the end and him getting out was a logical conclusion.

I'm becoming a fan of the music composer. Keeping with the same musical themes and more from the original movie.

I was noticing it sounds like the original a little. Vangelis is still alive. Surely he didn't compose the new music.

I never saw that movie but I always hated seeing that video and song with the slo mo barefoot running. It would be replayed over and over in the 80s during awards shows and all that all the time. {Lips Sealed} I won't hold it against Vangellis. The Blade Runner music was awesome. {Grin}

You couldn't pay me to watch the CoF movie. Bladerunner was panned by critics. I was one of a small percentage that saw it in the theater and liked it.

So many 1982 movies got shitted on and now they are classics. Blade Runner, The Thing, The Dark Crystal came out that same year...even Halloween 3 is pretty good.

I would watch Siskel and Ebert all the time back in the day every Saturday afternoon...their taste and reviews in alot of movies were terrible. Same for many other critics.

I didn't like Dark Crystal. The Thing was good, but I don't like Kurt Russell. It was good despite him. It's hard to believe that was 35 years ago.

so Ryan Gosling is an Android and doesn't know it. That's what I get from the trailer.

I hope they give Harrison Ford's character adequate screen time in this one. Unlike Force Awakens where it takes one hour for him to show up....only to get killed off at the end.

I think they need to hand it over as quickly as possible to a new actor. I really don't like watching a half senile old man reprising the roles that he should have done 2 decades ago. He's done okay, but he's about 2 movies away from me being really tired of him.

The accent Jared Leto is using in this video sounds exactly like the Michael Fassbender "Walter" android from the recent Alien: Covenant.

hmmmm....

Re: Blade Runner 2049 (31st Aug 17 at 2:10pm UTC)
There were some viral videos with a mention of the "Tyrel Corporation" for the evil android from Prometheus. Almost like the androids were replicants. Fans thought that was the start of the connection.

When I watched Alien Covenant, it felt like Ridley was more interested in telling the story of the androids from the movie than bringing up the aliens and the giant humanoid engineers. Like 35 percent of the last movie was focused on the good and bad androids going against each other. Like Terminator 2 but the robots were more philosophical about it with the talking about creating each other and turning on their creators while fighting against each other. And then that final act was the usual escape from the Aliens to the spaceship.

The voice accent on this one sounds like maybe the "Walter" android was a spinoff creation of the human Jared Leto from this video. The exagerrated accents sounds pretty deliberate. The Alien movie timelines take place after 2090 so maybe they he's planting the seeds to string them together. If that's true, the Predators might sneak in that universe!

I was hearing reviews, so I thought it might have been out already. I stopped by a theater at a mall last weekend and saw that it wasn't. I went to Books-A-Million and saw they were selling a new Treasury sized comic from Marvel. I bought that and left.

I finally saw this. It's okay. Visually, it's nice. The plot tries to be clever. It wasn't necessary. I'd taken some medicine that was making me drowsy. I nodded off about 15 times, but I don't think I missed anything important. I was waking myself up. Several of the key actors have small roles in the movie. Harrison Ford's role is really pretty small. There was one scene that seemed pointless for someone is age. I kept thinking they could have had him doing a hundred other scenes to build suspense, but they picked the worst way ever for a guy his age.

Wondered if you saw it. I noticed the running time was pretty long. Was it better than Valerian? I'm so behind on the movies I want to see.

I think Valerian was more entertaining. Blade Runner was more like a video art gallery with a plot. It was slow paced. I spent more time watching the background and scenery. Leto is shown almost as much in the video short as he is the entire movie. Harrison Ford is shown about the same amount. Ana de Armas is in it more than either of them. I'm wondering if Sean Young contributed to the movie in any way, because she's in it.

Everything artistically about it was fine. The score reminded me of the original very well. There was one reoccurring sound effect for doom or dread that was a little distracting, but at least they were consistent. It might have been easy to get lost on the plot if you hadn't seen the original.
