Mile High and Lonestar Comics grading practices (24th Apr 17 at 9:58am UTC)
For years, Mile High Comics and Lonestar Comics (mycomicshop) acted like the grade VF-NM didn't exist. If a comic was in better than VF condition, they graded it as NM.
This philosophy led to both companies having bad reputations among knowledgeable collectors when it came to their grading practices, as they often effectively ripped off their customers.
Although mycomicshop has tightened their grading to a reliable standard now that their original owner is no longer running the company, even listing multiple grades that they didn't used to acknowledge, most collectors who were offended and ripped off by their old grading standards refuse to do business with them still.

It would be a UK server. I'm sure a server somewhere has the wrong time stamp.

When a post is made on this board, the time recorded on the board as time of post is at least three minutes into the future.

Only one episode of Supergirl was available on demand and it wasn't up long. I binge watched Legion. The first two episodes were horrible. It got better.

There was a marathon earlier of season 3 but I skipped those.

I did watch the Kevin Smith directed episode of Supergirl. I haven't seen much of the other CW shows.

I suspect definite stuffing in that cosplay outfit. lol....who's he trying to impress?

A guy at work would say "That's okay as long as you put it in the front. Don't put it in the back."

Good. I was watching all the superhero shows 'On Demand' and right when spring break hit they all dried up.
I hope it's better than last year.

JCV seems to launch a bunch of companies. The missing ingredients are Shooter and actual investors to make something special happen though.

I was disappointed with the half reprint issue package that was Bedtime Stories #1.

I think Bedtime Stories was a marketing test. Smiley

I suspect the novelty of it and the crowd reaction will all wear down over time.

I suspect definite stuffing in that cosplay outfit. lol....who's he trying to impress? Would be funny if he did it on purpose for laughs. But it was just odd.

I don't get the whole drag stage show scene with the lip synching to long songs. It's kind of boring to watch after 20 seconds. I had to forward it. I like disco music but not into seeing lip synching shows.

He would probably get a better turnout if is was labeled as cosplay for sure. Who knew that was a thing at Mile High.

I think he was smuggling a potato in the first video.

There's some drag content in this one:

He'd be wise to minimize cross-dressing and promote this as "Cosplay Karaoke" not a "drag show". A drag show that raises money for kids is a dozen levels of creepy.

The next one sounds water themed since he did those Mariana Trench expeditions to the bottom of the ocean floor for research. It took him ten years from Titanic to Avatar and now another decade for Avatar 2. I'm amazed they built an actual Avatar land at Disney faster than he made a movie sequel.

To me, his Terminator story paused with T2-3D the ride. He gets the Terminator rights back in 2019 so who knows if he had some ideas left brewing all this time. Terminator Genysis seemed to throw in every version of the terminator robot in there except the T-1,000,000.

Going forward, the special effects and CGI are going to struggle to impress anyone. It's going to take more than that to get people coming back. I like his movies, but I could see it losing momentum on the next ones.

That's something. He seemed proud to mention it. Who knew.

I would go to check out the back issues.

In the few minutes that I talked to him, I learned that he had no filter and would discuss anything on his mind.

Kevin Smith Tours Mile High Comics (23rd Apr 17 at 4:15am UTC)

Timestamp 20:05

Kevin Smith: "This is how you want to live your life kids! Lovin' comics and helping people. I can only do the first thing."

Chuck Rozanski: "The performance stage up here we use for drag shows. Um! I'm also part of the Denver drag organization..."

Kevin Smith: "Nice!"

Chuck Rozanski: "... and uh.... so... I'm working on... um... being in a leadership position for that next year... and uh... there's a part of my life that's way different from comics too.

I think I lost interest in ever seeing his store.
